OUR BOYS
Our grateful thanks to Anzhelika for her trust in sending this beautiful bear from Russia, i know it cant of been easy. He had some journey to get here by flight, train and road or Planes, trains and automobiles as the saying goes. He took everything in his stride and made no fuss whatsoever.
Nicknamed Ravibear he is absolutely gorgeous with a really laid back attitude. He doesn't really have time or need for everyone but dotes on me.
We are thrilled with his babies and look forward to watching them develop.
I had absolutely no intention of keeping any kitten from this litter. Rookie first cast his line and reeled in my friend Colette at just 3 weeks old. After selling himself to her she fought his corner and he ended up hooking me too. He is so soft and he is actually the lap cat of the house. Like his dad Eli, Rookie made champion in three straight shows. Unusually a double show on the same day meant he was titled at just 9 1/2 months. Shows are not really his thing after a bit of a bad experience so he retired from the show bench. He will also be retired from stud work after 2019.

Maine Coon males are generally pretty laid back and friendly. A weight of approximately 14 to 18 pounds is the average for the breed. A breeder cannot tell you how big your male kitten is going to be when they are fully grown, it is impossible to predict without a crystal ball. They may be able to tell you what the lines typically produce but a final weight for anything man or beast is never a given.
There are however many many boys that weigh far more than this, at the time of writing some of our kittens as fully grown Maine Coons have weighed between 25 and 29 pounds but these are above average and not the norm. Aside from one, these are not overweight cats but very big boned individuals. There is a big difference between an overweight cat and a big cat, neuters often seem to get bigger than entire males.
We are often asked do males spray and roam, the answer is simply yes, unless they are neutered. Having your cat snipped at an early age can prevent these habits from forming in the first place so the earlier the better. Despite many thoughts an unaltered cat does not get bigger. There has been much research into this matter and many articles are available online, just search 'Early Neutering'. If you would like links or information please just ask us.
